What a good Council we have

A few weeks ago, Dom answered the door to someone who was doing a survey on public transport within our Council's area. After about 5 minutes he came back saying that we were going to receive in the post the Al Gore DVD, a pedometer, reflectors and an information pack to show walks, bus routes etc.... for free

Well it came last week. The pack is brilliant and so well presented. Whoever the graphic designer was should get a pat on the back. The bus routes come as little books that open out to show bus routes on one side and a map on the other. Better than pocket size! Also in the pack there were walks listed in our local area. Dom and I thought we had sussed out all the great parks in the area...and there really are excellent parks here, but on Saturday we discovered Oaks Park, only 10 minutes away. You really do feel like you are in deep countryside. The park was lovely. Meg could run around to her heart's content. At the end, there was a lovely little cafe where we all had an italian ice-cream. It was such a lovely family day out.
On Sunday we had my parents, my Nan, my Aunt and my cousin, Emily up for the day. It was hard work for me catering for so many as I had a migraine. To make things harder, it started to rain as we put the meat on the BBQ. All day it was in and out, in and out. There's not much room inside for so many people. I have to say, Emily was just brilliant with Megan. Megan just followed her around everywhere and even sat nicely while being read a story...I can just about manage 3 pages before she loses interest! It was good to see everyone, despite feeling crap. After eating us out of house and home, they all left at 6pm. I was in bed and asleep by 9.30pm!


Well it's Monday morning and I am downstairs making Meg's breakfast. ....while Dom is arranging all my knickers on Meg to model! What a funny sight for a Monday morning, don't you think?
