Rome is amazing!

In Rome there is just so much to see. Every building is a spectacular, highly decorated, very old structure. I think the Romans have become a bit blazee about them. I was shocked at how these glorious buildings were covered in graffiti. Nothing is sign posted clearly. The city is total chaos. Every other person would have their heads down in a map. But I kind of love that about it. The ruins shown above are in the middle of the city. They are thousands of years old and were found while digging foundations. I imagine all of Rome to be like that. There just aren't any new buildings....there's just no room!
Italy is renowned for its market squares and Rome is no exception. The one in the pic below was a well known one. I bought a load of fresh garlic here. On the edge of the square was a delicatessen. I bought the hugest block of Parmesan cheese you have ever seen, a block of pancetta and some italian cured sausage. It came to 32 euros. I wish I had bought more now as it was so cheap! Anyway, we had a fab time and are already looking into going there next year for longer this time. In the meantime we have booked a great villa on the outskirts of Valencia. Meg will join us for that one in May. 12 days of bliss.
